sweet jesus THIS. never mind if you’re working on, oh, i dunno, a mac! there are several aspects of my job that require internet explorer (like our timecard system) - how stupid. and what really sucks, too, is that some major websites (godaddy, i’m looking at you) won’t let you complete major transactions unless you’re using IE on a PC.

it’s just freakin’ laziness, plain and simple. if i can build a standards-compliant website, then backwards-engineer it to render correctly in IE 6, then major corporations with huge amounts of manpower could at least reciprocate.

Thanks for the info. I’m thinking of relocating there. I’ve been out a few times, and watch CL; I work at home; do you off hand have an apartment bldg in your memory bank near the Bay that is reasonable, say, in San Mateo? If not, forget it. I really need to stay around $1500 a month base rent.

I did enjoy reading this, and I’ll bookmark it. Hope you enjoy it.

Hey Dennis,

I didn’t realize you were an avid tennis fan! Our whole family is, and we stayed up late at night and got up early in the morning to watch the Australian Open. I was disappointed there wasn’t more coverage on US TV, but I guess that’s another reason for us to sign up for the Tennis Channel.

I agree, Djokovic has had an amazing year, as have all the Serbian tennis players.

Don’t know if you remember, but my son plays tennis. He made varsity his freshman year at high school, and last fall played #2 singles as a sophomore. Tennis is a year round activity for our family!
